A Banger Presentation!

I'm so proud of what my amazing team and I have accomplished so far. We've been putting our hearts and souls into developing this game, and today we showcased our work-in-progress prototype. It's been an incredible learning experience, and we can't wait to keep pushing forward!

Huge thanks to Professors Hope Caton, Vasilis Argyriou, Jaroslaw Francik, Darrel Greenhill and Akos Nagy for their guidance and support throughout this project. We wouldn't have gotten this far without their insights!

Big shoutout to my awesome teammate Molly for presenting with me.

Map Updates

I spent a few days to come up with a second map for dark realm which is placed on top of the existing light realm map so that the players can seamlessly switch. The maps can easily be identified by their distinct features. The light realm map has green and yellow lights and a blue sky which depicts that it is a safe space for the light realm players. It also has the broken machine that needs to be fixed.

The dark realm has a dull atmosphere with red and purple UV lights, and because of these lights and no activity for ages, the realm has been taken over by vegetation. The sky is red and demonic and the machine parts are scattered across the environment.

Both the maps were rescaled to fit in more ambient objects like shelves and cover objects. The maps also feel less claustrophobic now and there's a huge space for combat.

Machine

Fixing the machine is the primary objective of team light realm. We have placed the machine near the spawn point of LR players. It's a strategic placement with a lot of sniper locations nearby and an open area without any cover. The logic behind placing it here is that the players fixing the machine would be vulnerable to dark realm players for a fair chance to the DR players. The LR team mates can also defend their teammates here by covering them from sniper nests. The combat here is amazing, we tested it!

Machine Parts

The machine parts can be seen in the image above. They are scattered across the Dark realm map, the LR players have to find them and take them to their own realm to install them in the machine. The DR players have to guard them with everything they have got. Once the LR players take them to the machine, they have to hold the E key for 5 seconds to fix the machine, while they do that, they are displayed with a progress bar that fills over 5 seconds.
